About Me
My name is Rebo Hassell. I’m originally from south Louisiana, and I now live in northeast Washington, DC with my husband and three cats.
Change, learning, and compassion have been major themes of my life. I studied music and literature at New College of Florida and developed a career around nonprofit project management. When I turned thirty, I enrolled in a culinary arts program, worked as a chef in restaurants for ten years, and later explored catering and other cooking projects. After the pandemic, I found that feeding people no longer fed my soul. I transitioned to relationship mediation so that I can more directly help people get the love and connection they crave.
At points, I’ve judged myself harshly, wondering if I’m flighty or flaky, but now I understand: my needs have changed, so no wonder the ways I want to spend my time have shifted too.
Through this all, I have cared deeply about friendships and community. Communities that I’ve been part of have included Women Uncorked, ecstatic dance, Center for a New Culture, classical piano performance, various yoga studios, Transformational Connection, and Free DC, among others. I’m still part of some of these groups, while I’ve left others when the time felt right.
My deepest connections come from groups that practice authenticity, value openness, and demonstrate care for their members. I do my best to embody this with my friends, groups, clients, and everyone I come in contact with.
